China believes Ukraine situation is a wake-up call for entire human race
Xi Jinping, the Chinese leader, stated on Wednesday that the situation in Ukraine has “sounded an alarm for humanity,” as China maintains a neutral stance while supporting Russia as an ally.
While opposing sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States and accusing the West of provoking Moscow, China has declined to criticize Russia’s conflict in Ukraine or to even refer to it as an invasion.
The official Xinhua News Agency quoted Xi as saying, “The Ukraine crisis has again sounded the alarm for humanity. Countries will surely end up in security hardships if they place blind faith in their positions of strength, expand military alliances, and seek their own safety at the expense of others.”
It was during the launch of a virtual business meeting of the “BRICS” countries—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—that Xi addressed, but he didn’t provide any ideas.
Xi also claimed that sanctions might operate as a “boomerang” and a “double-edged sword” and that the global community would suffer from “politicizing, mechanizing and weaponizing” global economic patterns and financial flows.

Chinese assertiveness abroad and its desire to dominate global markets have sparked a backlash, including requests for Chinese suppliers to be replaced or to reduce dependence on the China economy.
President Xi urged nations to work together on such matters, adding that efforts to “build a small courtyard with high walls” were in no one’s interest.
“Economic globalization is an objective requirement for the development of productive forces and an irresistible historical trend,” Xi said, adding, “Going backward in history and trying to block other people’s road will only block your own road in the end.”
