El Niño Returns, Reminds Another Black Summer For Australia
El Niño is a weather pattern that brings hot and dry climate conditions with it, and Australia is facing its return. The BoM (Bureau of Meteorology) has stated that El Niño is back, and it’s going to increase the risk of dangerous bushfires.
The return of El Niño simply means that it will bring hotter temperatures and reduce the rain conditions. Consequently the firefighting task will be more challenging. Experts are saying that the upcoming summer will be hotter than the last 3 years.
The country has already experienced some record-breaking heat this spring, particularly in Sydney. But the potential tragedy would be more as the recent heavy rains have resulted in significant plant growth.
These plants have been converted in the bushes, and it can add more fuels for fires in the hot & dry conditions of El Niño.
The situation is a major concern for the country as they had suffered from similar terrific bushfires 4 years ago. The bushfire was so horrible that it was termed as ‘Black Summer’ by Australians.

El Niño is not the only major concern, the country has been facing hotter years since 2010 consistently. Out of the 10 hottest years, 8 hottest years happened in the last 13 years.
However the landscape of Australia is not as dry as it was during the horrific bushfires, ‘Black Summer’, but there is still a major risk.
The heavy rains have produced and spreaded the plants which either have been converted into bushes, or will be converted soon. God forbid, if there is a situation like Black Summer, it will be very difficult to control the fires.
Thus Australia must have to be alert and be prepared for the potential risks so that the country can ensure the safety of its people and homes.
