The humanitarian organisations in the UAE have started helping flood victims in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. They have started an initiative  “We Stand Together” to show solidarity with affected Pakistani families.

The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) Authority, Dubai Cares, and Sharjah Charity Association, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Community Development in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), launched the “We Stand Together” volunteering initiative, to assist those affected by floods in Pakistan.

This is part of the UAE’s efforts to provide urgent relief assistance to flood victims in Pakistan. The community event will take place on 10th September, from 09:00 to 13:00, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi, Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) – South Hall at Expo City in Dubai, and Expo Centre in Sharjah.

Under the directives of the UAE president, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the organizations have invited volunteers to register and participate in the initiative in order to help flood victims in Pakistan.

When the flood hit the country, the UAE President ordered the provision of all humanitarian relief services to the displaced people in Pakistan. The UAE sent around 3,000 tonnes of food and medical and pharmaceutical supplies, and tents and shelter materials to flood victims in Pakistan.

Last week, the country sent a second batch of humanitarian aid to Pakistan. The Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence continued humanitarian operations in Pakistan by transferring humanitarian aid to the flood victims through an air bridge.

Pakistani people have started thanking the UAE President for his continuous efforts and aid for the flood victims. Recently, Pakistani actor Humayun Saeed thanked the UAE President on Instagram. He posted a video and wrote about the plight of the flood victims. Humayun Saeed also appealed to the Pakistani government to take appropriate steps to curb displacement. In the video, he thanked MBZ for the urgent relief dispatched by the UAE to improve the living conditions of the flood victims. Earlier, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, also thanked High Highness.
