Kotb did not reveal the reason for her absence from the show. She posted images of inspirational quotes on her social media but never talked about her absence on the show. In her absence, NBC media personalities like Craig Melvin, Tom Llamas, Willie Geist and Sheinelle Jones have been featured in shows. Kotb was replaced by World News Tonight anchor Llamas. Craig Melvin worked her shift during the second day of her absence.

Who is Hoda Kotb?
