Things to Know About Eurovision 2024 Beyond Pro-Palestinian Protests and Israel
The 68th version of the famous song contest, which is usually considered non-political, is now going to be held amid the tensions in Gaza because of the war between Hamas and Israel since 7 October 2023.
Eurovision is a contest that is always full of entertainment, quirky songs are now in the middle of political conflicts with the protestors both in the streets of Malmo and online asking the song contest to disallow Israel to take part in the competition.
This year Eurovision is hosted in the Swedish City of Malmo.

More About This Year’s Eurovision
Eden Golan, 20 years old, Israel singer made it to Saturday’s final with her song named ‘Hurricane’. On Friday the betting odds predicted that she can win the contest and is in the list of top contenders.
26 participant countries including the big 5 countries (Britain, Germany, Spain, France, and Italy) and the other 10 countries from past semi-finals along with the host country Sweden will be there in Saturday’s grand final. Other countries that have a fair chance to win this year’s Eurovision include Italy, Netherlands, Ukraine, France, and Ireland. According to the data of Spotify Sweden, this year’s host country also has the chance to win the contest.
Meet The Hosts Of Eurovision 2024
Popular humorous Swedish comedian Petra Mede is hosting this year’s Eurovision and this is the third time she is hosting the biggest song contest. Previously she hosted Eurovision in Malmo 2013 and Stockholm 2016 with the winner of 2015 Eurovision Mans Zelmerlow. The host duo also performed an act during the interval called ‘ Love, Love, Peace, Peace’.

On BBC One and BBC iPlayer this year Eurovision will be hosted by Graham Norton whereas on BBC Sounds and BBC Radio 2 Rylan and Scott Mills will take responsibility for the commentary of this year’s Eurovision.
Musical Guests and Interval Acts Of Eurovision 2024
The opening and interval acts for Eurovision 2024 are still not revealed, but this is sure that the winner of Eurovision 2023 Loreen will give a special performance in the grand finale. Tributes will be paid to ABBA by previous year’s Eurovision winners including Carola, Conchita Wurst, and Charlotte Perrelli. Alcazar, a popular Swedish group will also perform in the grand finale.
