UAE appointed the 1st AI minister in the world in 2017. In the age of 27, Omar bin Sultan al-Olama became 1st AI minister of UAE in the world. He accepts the challenge to turn the UAE into a powerhouse of AI by 2031.
In a speech last September 2023, the CEO of OpenAI Sam Altman said the UAE “has been talking about AI since before it was cool.”
Recently Microsoft announced to invest $1.5 billion in G42. G42 is a prominent AI-based firm in the UAE. The purpose of this investment is to promote AI innovations and the country will get support in this. This deal reflects the UAE’s growing reach in AI innovation on the global stage.
