Meet Sabih Khan; The Indian Origin Man chosen as Apple’s Chief Operating Officer
Sabih Khan, an Indian born American techie has been chosen to be the next Chief Operating Officer of the behemoth company after serving in multiple crucial roles in the past three decades. The company will have a new COO after Jeff Williams steps down later this month as Sabih Khan is the current Vice President of Operations.

“Jeff Williams will transition his role as chief operating officer later this month to Sabih Khan, Apple’s senior vice president of operations, as part of a long-planned succession,” Apple said in a statement released on Wednesday. Sabih Khan was appointed as the Vice President of Operations in 2019 and has in the past worked on many progressive projects in Apple.
On appointing Sabih Khan as the next COO, Apple CEO Tim Cook said, “Sabih leads with heart and values, and I know he will make an exceptional chief operating officer. He helped ensure that Apple can be nimble in response to global challenges,” and added that Khan is a “brilliant strategist and one of the central architects of Apple’s supply chain.”
Sabih Khan was born in Uttar Pradesh, in 1966 in Moradabad. He and his family moved to Singapore when he was 10 where he did his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University. He later got his Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Khan joined Apple in 1995, where he has been working in several crucial projects and roles, shaping Apple’s global sales and supply chain. His role as the Vice President of Operations came in with responsibilities of forming alliances with suppliers of green manufacturing, helping in planet conservation measures.
