US C-17 Aircraft Deporting 205 Indian Nationals Lands in Amritsar
U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft carrying 205 Indian nationals deported from the United States has landed at Shri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport in Amritsar, Punjab. This mass deportation happened after recent orders by the US President to strengthen immigration efforts.
The deportees are majorly from Punjab and neighboring states were removed for visa overstays or illegal entry. Punjab authorities led by Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, had set up special processing counters at the airport to handle their arrival. The flight, initially scheduled for the morning, landed in the afternoon.
Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal the Punjab NRI Affairs Minister has criticized the deportation by the United States. He highlighted the issue of better protection for Indian migrants.
This deportation highlights a growing crackdown on illegal immigration. In 2023 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported 370 Indians. As per the report, Indians were attempting to enter the U.S. illegally.
Now, when Trump is in office for the second term he is handling the issues of migrants strictly. Stay connected for updates.
