UAE and WHO Unite to Evacuate Critically Injured Palestinians from Gaza

In a collaborative humanitarian mission with the World Health Organization the Gulf nation UAE evacuated 86 critically injured patients from the Gaza Strip to Abu Dhabi. Official news agency WAM confirmed the news. United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed the news .
Among those evacuated were children and cancer patients in need of specialized medical care. The evacuees were accompanied by 124 family members and transported via Ramon Airport in Israel, through the Kerem Shalom crossing.
As reported by MOFA, His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations and Member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, stated: “This new initiative reflects the strong levels of cooperation between the UAE and the World Health Organization, and exemplifies the UAE’s steadfast and enduring commitment to support the brotherly Palestinians amidst the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip.” “We remain resolute in our collaboration with the United Nations, international partners, and relief organizations, and we will continue to extensively undertake a leading and pioneering role in providing advanced healthcare to wounded Palestinians and those suffering from incurable diseases. We are steadfastly supporting endeavors to alleviate this humanitarian crisis using all available means.”
This is twenty-second evacuation efforts of UAE. This is the part of an ongoing initiative of UAE to aid Palestinian people in Gaza stripe during the time of ongoing crisis. The UAE aims to provide life-saving medical treatment and compassionate care to those severely impacted.
The evacuation mission is part of the initiative by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan which aims to treat 1,000 wounded children and 1,000 cancer patients in UAE hospitals. According to the reports, till now a total of 2,127 patients and their families have been transferred to the UAE.
As part of its broader support efforts the UAE has treated over 50,000 patients in the UAE Field Hospital established in southern Gaza since December 2023. Additionally the floating hospital stationed in Al-Arish Port since February 2024 has provided care for 6,405 patients. According to the WAM, UAE has supplied over 43,000 tonnes of aids which includes food medical, and relief supplies, to help Palestinians in Gaza.
This extensive humanitarian aid shows the dedication of UAE to address the challenges and save humanity in bad times of crisis.
