Trump Announces Key Roles for Homan, Musk, and Kennedy in New Administration
President-Elect Donald Trump announced Sunday that Tom Homan will lead his administration’s immigration policies, particularly in deporting undocumented immigrants. Trump praised Homan, who served in his previous administration, calling him the “border czar” and expressing confidence in his ability to manage U.S. borders effectively.
Trump stated that Homan’s role would involve overseeing security at the southern and northern borders, as well as maritime and aviation entry points. “I’ve known Tom for years; he’s the best at managing our borders,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
In October, Homan commented to CBS that no immigration raids had occurred under President Joe Biden’s administration and indicated that they would resume once Trump took office
Homan with years of experience in immigration enforcement previously served as the acting director of ICE in 2017. He worked as a police officer, border patrol agent, and special agent.
