Netflix made the announcement on Friday, August 19 that Dan Levy and six new actors would be joining the cast of Sex Education for its fourth season. However, some of the previous cast members would not be returning for the next season.

As part of the announcement that production on the fourth season of “Sex Education” has begun, the streaming service shared photos of “Sex Education” cast members Otis Milburn (played by Asa Butterfield), Ruby Matthews (played by Mimi Keene), Maeve Wiley (played by Emma Mackey), and Mr. Molloy (played by Dan Levy).

“This is the moment for which you have been waiting.” It stated in the caption that “We’re back, babies.”

In the upcoming season of Schitt’s Creek, Levy of Schitt’s Creek will make an appearance as a recurring guest star playing the character of Thomas Molloy. He will play the role of a well-known novelist who helps Maeve with her American studies at her Ivy League university.

In addition to Levy, there will be a total of six new characters featured in the future season. The roles that these individuals will play have not yet been revealed. Thaddea Graham, Marie Reuther, Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, and Imani Yahshua will all be joining the cast as series regulars in the forthcoming season.

Other cast members who will be back for the fourth season include Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Aimee-Lou Wood, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Alistair Petrie, and Samantha Spiro. In addition to Butterfield, Keene, and Mackey, these actors will also be joined by Samantha Spiro.

However, a number of the show’s cast members, including Patricia Allison, Tanya Reynolds, and Simone Ashley, have confirmed that they would not be returning for the upcoming season of the popular comedy-drama series.

Otis, a socially awkward adolescent, is the protagonist of Laurie Nunn’s series Sex Education, which she also created and serves as an executive producer on. Together with the tough girl Maeve, they launch a business in which he offers relationship and sex counseling to his peers at school who are unsure about what they want but very hungry for it. All the while, he is working through his own sexual hang-ups (and his feelings for Maeve).

The first season of the show debuted in January 2019, and further seasons started streaming the following year in January 2020 and September 2021, respectively.
