Ryan Wesley Routh Arrested for Alleged Trump Assassination Attempt
Former President Donald Trump escaped an incident that the FBI says was an attempted assassination on Sunday. It occurred at the location of Trump’s golf course in Florida.
Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was arrested in the course of investigations as the chief suspect. He is a North Carolina construction worker by origin. Routh has no military experience but wishes to go to Ukraine following the invasion by Russia in 2022.
Secret Service agents shot at a range near the Trump’s golf course. It was said that Routh was found in the bushes.
At the scene, they found:
– A rifle of the same caliber as the AK-47
– A place to put the rifle
– A GoPro camera
In 2002 he was arrested in Greensboro for confining himself in a building with a machine gun. One cannot tell what happened after that arrest and this means that this was not a well-planned event.
Routh’s son was quoted by Daily Mail saying that his father despises Donald Trump, as any sane person should; but he does not believe his father is violent and that he probably never possessed a firearm.
Routh wished the war between Ukraine and Russia to be successful. In one of his social media posts, he stated that he is “willing to fly to Krakow and go to the border of Ukraine to volunteer and fight and die.”
During an interview, Routh stated that he went to Ukraine to support Ukrainians. To increase the number of people who would join the war effort, he was in Kyiv at that time.
Joe Biden thanked the Secret Service and police for the protection of Trump during the riots. The investigation is ongoing.
This incident occurred two months after another alleged assassination bid on Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
