Russian Assault on Iconic Kharkiv Building Leaves Seven Injured
On Tuesday Russian forces launched an overnight assault on Ukraine. They had targeted the iconic Derzhprom building in Kharkiv with a glide bomb. According to Ukrainian officials seven people got injured in this incident.
Newsweek confirmed the news by reporting , “As part of an overnight assault, Russia dropped a glide bomb on the landmark Derzhprom building in Kharkiv city center in the early hours of Tuesday, injuring seven people, according to Ukrainian authorities.”
Derzhprom which also known as the Palace of Industry is being considered for inclusion on UNESCO’s World Heritage List due to its modernist architectural significance.
The attack is part of a larger rise in Russian strikes across Ukraine since the full-scale invasion started almost three years ago. On the same day, drone, missile, and bomb attacks hit both Kyiv and Kharkiv, resulting in the deaths of four civilians and injuring 15 others.
These increasing attacks by Russia on Ukraine have caused thousands of civilian injuries and deaths. This is raising worries about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the area of Ukraine.
