Oscar Winning Film ‘The Brutalist’ gets a Streaming Date in Max
‘The Brutalist’ released in 2024, directed by Brady Corbet sweeped some of the best category nominations in the Oscars and even bagged three Academy Awards. Adrien Brody bagged his second Oscar win for Best Actor for his role as Laszlo Toth, a dreamy and aspiring Holocaust Survivor.
Starring Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Raffy Cassidy and more will be available for streaming on Max from 16 May, 2025. The plethora of awards and accolades bagged by the producers and director along with the cast make it a must watch film for cinephiles, if missed in the theatres.
‘The Brutalist’ at its full span has created a niche for ambition and determination even when life puts you through hardship. Set in the trembling war environment that makes Laszlo Toth, a trained architect left in the western world to fend for himself while awaiting the fate of the rest of his family – his wife Erzsebet Toth and his orphaned niece Zsofia.
Laszlo’s days in Pennsylvania is a bit of a grey period that is filled with hope and opportunities in one hand and the same loss of hope and exhaustion. Laszlo’s time in the United States of America is described as three parts in the film – one about the immigration and the reflection of the post holocaust situation, the second segment resonating Laszlo’s struggle to follow through his dream of making a root for himself as an architect and his traumas while the epilogue gives the message and sets the tone deeper about ‘The Brutalist’ aspects in architecture.
This movie co- written by director Brady Corbet and Mona Fastvold summarises the brutal and unsaid perspective of immigrants in the mid 20th century with a unique take on ambition and the destination.
