In Italy, the green pass becomes mandatory for many categories of workers. For Walter Ricciardi, Professor of Hygiene at the Catholic University and consultant to the Italian Ministry of Health, vaccination must be increased to protect health and the economy. If that weren’t enough, the green pass should be taken into consideration. Rome is to extend the green pass to all workers: the state, the police, and gradually to all activities involving indoor gatherings.
The range of action extension of the green pass starts next month, starting with public employees and where certification is already in force for customers. That is 3.2 million workers, as calculated by the Foundation for Labor Consultants Studies, of which 1.2 million are employees of the Public Administration. “We will decide to whom to extend it,” Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi said clearly.
The decree is being studied, and the new boundaries to be drawn are entrusted to the control room, postponed to next week, as government sources have reported. Then it will be necessary to leave the time required to undergo the first dose and allow the needed 15 days after the vaccination to pass for the green pass to take effect. Otherwise, you would have to go on with the swabs, but they only have 48 hours of validity. Here are the sectors where the green certificate becomes essential.
The Minister of Health Roberto Speranza and the Department of Public Administration holder Renato Brunetta are working to make the green pass mandatory for public employees. “The green pass is a license of freedom,” said Minister Brunetta at the Ambrosetti Forum in Cernobbio. For the minister, the green pass opens to life, work, and socialization. What will happen in the coming days, President Draghi said, stating that he intends to extend the green pass. Italy would open it to the whole world of work, both public and private.
To then bring back the public administration employees: from the calculations, about 10% would not be vaccinated. Even the leader of the Lega Matteo Salvini, who generally opposes the extension of the green pass, on this point told Cernobbio that “for those who have contact with the public for work on the Green pass there may be a reasoning.” The obligation could start from 27 September or, at the latest, from 4 October to allow at least the first vaccination dose to those who did not vaccinate so far.
