1. Emirates Mars Mission (Hope Probe)
Launched on July 19, 2020, the Hope Probe became the Arab world’s first interplanetary mission, successfully entering Mars’ orbit on February 9, 2021. Led by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), in collaboration with NASA and leading universities from the US, UK, and UAE, the mission aims to study the Martian atmosphere and weather cycles. 2. Emirates Lunar Mission (Rashid Rover)
The Rashid Rover, launched aboard Japan’s HAKUTO-R Mission 1 on December 11, 2022, marked the UAE’s first lunar exploration attempt. 4. Emirates Airlock for Lunar Gateway (Artemis Program)
In January 2025, the UAE signed an agreement to contribute the Emirates Airlock to NASA’s Lunar Gateway, part of the Artemis Program. This airlock will play a key role in lunar surface missions and radiation studies, while also preparing for future human missions to Mars.
