
World Leaders Call for Ceasefire and Aid Access in Sudan Crisis Talks
The United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, the African Union (AU), and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) held a High-Level Humanitarian Conference for the People of Sudan in Addis Ababa. This international conference was focused on addressing the humanitarian crisis in Sudan. The leaders tried to call for humanitarian aid and a ceasefire during the holy month of Ramadan.
World leaders including Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Kenyan President Dr. William Ruto, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres, attended the event. The UAE announced an additional $200 million in humanitarian aid, bringing its total contribution to over $600 million since the conflict began.
This conference raised the worse condition of Sudan in front of the world again. It was an important step in global efforts to support Sudan and its people, UAE played an important role standing with nations who are in need.
