White House Celebrates Easter with Music, Prayer, and Faith Leaders
The White House is planning a special Holy Week under President Donald Trump this year. The week will include prayer, worship, music, and events focused on the meaning of Easter.
This marks the first Holy Week celebration organized by the newly formed White House Faith Office. The goal is to honor Easter “with the observance it deserves,” according to Jennifer Korn, the Faith Office’s director.
Throughout the week, the White House will:
- Share a Holy Week proclamation
- Release a video message from the president
- Host a pre-Easter dinner
- Organize a staff worship service
On Palm Sunday, Trump will release a special message to Christians, showing his support for religious values in schools, workplaces, and public life.
On Wednesday, the Easter dinner will feature music by the Marine Corps Band, a performance by Christian singer Charles Billingsley, and prayers led by Trump and invited faith leaders. Pastors and priests from across the country are expected to attend.
Then, on Holy Thursday, the White House will hold a worship service. It will include Bible readings, prayer, communion, and worship music by Liberty University’s ensemble. Well-known pastors like Paula White, Franklin Graham, and Greg Laurie will take part.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said this celebration is a clear difference from the Biden administration, which in 2024 declared March 31 — which fell on Easter Sunday — as Transgender Day of Visibility. That decision sparked strong reactions from Christian leaders and Trump supporters.
Leavitt said Trump is keeping his promise to support faith and Christians in America.
“This is a meaningful week for millions, and we are celebrating it with the respect it deserves,” she said.
