Actor and Martial Artist Vidyut Jammwal is making waves with the announcement of his Hollywood debut. The actor could not have made a better introduction of himself and his skills as a Martial artist as he is chosen to play the role of Dhalsim in ‘Street Fighter’ Live Action adaptation.
Vidyut Jammwal is making his mark in Hollywood with the well-known franchise ‘Street Fighter’ becoming one of the most famous games in history. First released in arcades in 1987 and immortalised with its sequel in 1991, Capcom’s ‘Street Fighter’ was widespread.
The production house Legendary Pictures has announced a striking array of actors in the cast for brilliant roles. Vidyut Jammwal also joins in for the role of Dhalsim, an enigmatic and culturally rooted character in the game. Dhalsim is a Monk, a pacifist who enters the arena for his village with noble intentions in his heart. He also chooses not to hurt his opponents just enough and not more than necessary. Although initially portrayed as a cultural caricature, the movie might offer a more grounded look at the monk.
Jammwal is known for his enduring training in Martial Arts off screen starting Kalaripayattu from childhood and followed through as an avid practitioner of Kung Fu, Jiu-jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. He is worth around Rs 50 Crore in Net Worth, with majority of it coming from his acting career and brand deals.
