Trump Meets Tim Cook: A Historic Dinner Ahead of His 2025 Presidential Term
US newly elected President Donald Trump welcomed Apple CEO Tim Cook for a private dinner at his resort Mar-a-Lago. This meeting between Trump and Tech gaint Cook is part of Trump’s strategy to build ties with Trump before he starts his second term in the Administration.
Tim Cook is the newest tech leader who met Donald Trump. Before Cook Mark Zuckerberg of META and Jeff Bezos of Amazon also met with Trump. These meetings showing that gaps are closing between tech leaders and upcoming president of U.S. Trump.
After the meeting with Tim Cook and Trump many reports are suggesting that the topic of discussion during the dinner was Apple’s legal battle with the European Union over a €13 billion ($14.34 billion) tax dispute with Ireland. Though Trump also mentioned previously that Cook called him to express concerns about this case with EU.
This meeting comes as Trump prepares for his inauguration in January 2025 where he will become the 47th President of the United States. His return to office will be a historic comeback after securing 295 electoral votes in the 2024 presidential election of US.
