Telegram founder Pavel Durov showed his support to free speech. He said via a tweet on X that Telegram is a platform that has championed freedom of speech. Further, he stated core values would be unaffected by the US election cycle, and Telegram is supporting free speech.

Telegram’s founder also said that several other platforms have recently shown their stand and commitment for free speech and less censorship. But the true test of their dedication will come when political dynamics shift again.

This might be hint? As recently META has announced its policy shift and promote free speech, by reducing censorship.

Telegram announces freedom of speech and less censorship

On X, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov tweeted “ I’m proud that Telegram has supported freedom of speech long before it became politically safe to do so. Our values don’t depend on US electoral cycles.

Today, other platforms are announcing they’ll now have less censorship. But the real test of their newly discovered values will come once the political winds change again. It’s easy to say you support something when you risk nothing.”
