South London Travel Alert: Rail Delays from 26 Oct to 1 Nov
According to the reports of BBC the Rail passengers in south London can witness delays because of the signal upgrades from 26 October to 1 November.
This £400 million project affects parts of the National Rail and London Overground during the half-term school holidays. The upgrades are happening between different areas like Crystal Palace, Tulse Hill, and Peckham Rye, impacting Thameslink, Southern, and London Overground services. The BBC News confirmed the news, they also release the list of trains that can be delayed.
Rory O’Neill, Transport for London’s general manager for London Overground, said: “Major investment in modern signalling is key to ensuring we can continue to offer a safe and reliable service while maintaining sufficient capacity to meet the growing demand for our services. There will also be some weekend closures in the same area before and after the October half-term closure.”
