Kim Kardashian’s New Pal? Tesla’s Optimus Makes a Splash
Kim Kardashian recently introduced her fans to her ‘new friend’ a humanoid robot named Optimus from Elon Musk’s company, Tesla. In a series of Instagram Stories, Kim was seen interacting with the robot. According to the sources the costs of the robot is between $20,000 and $30,000.
In one video she plays a game of rock-paper-scissors with the robot. “Umm, rock-paper-scissors,” she says, as the robot raises its hands. Kim laughs and adds, “Oh, raise the roof! Yap.” She makes the first move, beats the robot, and jokes, “Oh! You’re a little slow. I beat you.” The robot responds by throwing its hands up, mimicking human frustration.

Kim captioned her introduction on X (formerly Twitter) with, “Meet my new friend.” In another clip, she waves to the robot and asks, “Can you do this?” while forming a heart with her hands. To her surprise, the robot mimics the gesture perfectly, prompting her to gasp and say, “You know how to do that!”
Reports suggest these robots were previously operated by handlers, but it’s unclear if Kim’s robot was functioning autonomously in the videos.
In addition to showing off the robot Kim also shared a look at Tesla’s Cybercab, a futuristic vehicle with no steering wheel or pedals. She showed the car’s sleek interior but. It is not confirm if she plans to purchase it.
