Indian domestic cricket 2025-26: Full schedule, format changes and highlights

BCCI has just announced the complete Indian domestic cricket schedule for 2025-26, featuring major format changes, zonal revivals and a packed season. This calendar promises a blockbuster season full of thrill and excitement.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has set the stage for a remarkable year across different formats. These matches are going to sharpen regional contests and enhance competition. Let us take a look.

1. Duleep Trophy

August 28 to September 15

2. Ranji Trophy – Elite

Phase 1: October 15 to November 19

Phase 2: January 22 to February 1

Knockouts: February 6 to 28

3. Senior Women’s T20 Trophy

Elite: October 8 to 31

Plate: October 8 to 17

4. Vijay Hazare Trophy

Elite: December 24 to January 18

Plate: December 24 to January 6

5. Z R Irani Cup

October 1 to 5

6. Ranji Trophy – Plate

League: October 15 to November 19

Final: January 22 to 26

7. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Elite: November 15 to December 18

Plate: November 26 to December 6

8. Senior Women’s One Day Trophy

Elite: February 6 to 28

Plate: February 6 to 16

The season opener, the Duleep Trophy, begins on August 28. You can expect a lot of prominent names in the matches to be played in Bengaluru, including Shubman Gill, Dhruv Jurel, Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur and Tilak Varma.

One of the most important things to emphasize here is that the upcoming Duleep Trophy represents a return of the traditional zonal format. The top-performing teams from the last zonal edition are going to get a direct pass to the semifinals.
