GITEX Exhibition 2022 opens in Dubai

The 42nd edition of the largest exhibition in the sector of technology, GITEX Global 2022 has kick started today, October 10, 2022, at Dubai World Trade Centre. The GITEX exhibition is going to be held in Dubai from October 10 to October 14 and will be participated by 5,000 exhibitors at the Dubai Trade Centre spanning across 26 halls and two million sq. ft of exhibition space. This is a notable increase of 25 per cent participation year on year.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, took to his Twitter account to welcome the international delegates and technology sector companies to GITEX Global 2022. “The world’s largest technology exhibition will kick off tomorrow over an area of two million square feet with the participation of 5,000 companies from 90 countries. Among participating companies are 35 startups that are valued at $1 billion each,” Sheikh Mohammed said before the kick off the GITEX exhibition.

“GITEX Global, which started in 1981, has put Dubai on the global map of technology, which tops the list of Dubai’s priorities,” the Vice-President added. The delegates are welcomed by a joint pavilion of more than 40 Dubai government and private entities.

The five day long GITEX exhibition’s record size and continued expansion highlights the remarkable achievements and global position of UAE in global digital transformation movement with government initiatives such as the National Programme for Coders, the Dubai Metaverse Strategy, and Next GenFDI propelling the UAE to the forefront of the global digital economy. GITEX also unifies the participation of 250 government entities leading strategic digital projects and public-private partnerships, with Digital Dubai Authority and Abu Dhabi Digital Authority among the UAE government bodies advancing smart city and digital projects, as mentioned by WAM – the Emirates news agency.

The event will be featuring the latest developments and innovations in technology areas of 5G, artificial intelligence, cloud technology, cybersecurity, FinTech, blockchain, data analytics and smart cities. The international exhibitors include global tech companies Binance, AMD, Tencent and ByteDance along with Microsoft, Oracle and other companies in the same league.

This year’s GITEX exhibition features seven themes in technology sector – North Star Dubai start-ups, Ai Everything, Future Blockchain Summit in association with VARA, Fintech Surge, Marketing Mania and two new launches Global DevSlam and X-Verse.
