Dr. Marty Makary and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: Trump’s Vision for U.S. Health Reform
The President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Dr. Marty Makary to lead the Food and Drug Administration in his second term of government. Dr. Makary is a surgeon and author and became well-known for opposing vaccine mandates and some public health measures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Makary is a professor at Johns Hopkins University. He has called the U.S. health system “broken” and promised change. Along with this nomination Trump also named Dr. Dave Weldon. Dr. Dave Weldon is a former Republican congressman from Florida, leads the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Fox News contributor Janette Nesheiwat is set to become the next surgeon general.
