Dangerous Overnight Storms to Strike Middle Tennessee Region Sunday
Two days into Monday, severe weather will strike Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky with this being their third weekend of extreme weather risks.
Storm Prediction Center tells that most of this zone will experience heightened risk of dangerous storms at level 3 of 5 where all weather threats may occur. The meteorological authorities predict they may strengthen their warning when the system reaches us.
WKRN Weather Authority team meteorologists the event poses significant risk because it will cause harm during sleep hours of many residents. Rainy weather starts at 9 p.m. in western parts then moves toward eastern locations during the early morning of Monday.
The severe weather outbreak could produce:
- Damaging wind gusts exceeding 70 mph
- Hail up to golf ball size (1.75 inches)
- Possible tornadoes, including the potential for strong (EF-2+) tornadoes
