Canadian Authorities Accuse Indian Agents of Serious Crimes
The government of Canada has responded to a recent media report linking Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Canadian government now denied the accusations over Indian government and they have released a statement. It called the claims “speculative and inaccurate.”
On October 14, Canadian authorities took an unusual step. They openly accused Indian agents of serious crimes in Canada, saying it was because of a public safety threat. The Canadian government clarified that there is no evidence connecting PM Modi, External Minister Dr. Jaishankar, or National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to the crime. Any claims are false.

This response came after The Globe and Mail, a well-known Canadian newspaper, published a report linking PM Modi and NSA Doval to Nijjar’s killing. The report quoted an unnamed security official who claimed Canadian agencies believed PM Modi knew about the incident.
Nijjar’s killing in June 2023 led to a diplomatic dispute between Canada and India. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Indian officials of involvement, but India has strongly denied the allegations.
India rejected the Globe and Mail report, calling it a “smear campaign.”
Earlier, in October 2024, The Washington Post reported that Indian diplomats in Canada had allegedly collected intelligence on Sikh separatists. This information was reportedly used to target members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. NSA of India Ajit Doval allegedly said Bishnoi could orchestrate violence even from prison.
