Apple’s Big iPhone 16 Event: What to Expect on Monday
Apple is preparing for the biggest event this year. The new iPhones, along with many more awesome devices, will be made available on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. It will take place at the headquarters of the company in Cupertino, California.
Four New iPhones
Apple has decided to release four models of new iPhones: these include;
1. iPhone 16
2. iPhone 16 Plus
3. iPhone 16 Pro
4. iPhone 16 Pro Max
The iPhone 16 regular and iPhone 16 Plus models won’t change much from last year. They are supposed to look the same, be faster, and have more memory. They will also feature a new “Action button” and cameras that can take 3D videos for Apple headsets.
The Pro models may have larger screens and thinner edges: the iPhone 16 Pro would feature a 6.3-inch screen from 6.1 inches, while the Pro Max would have a 6.9-inch display from 6.7 inches. These handsets are also pegged for improved cameras with an additional button on the side for taking photos, somewhat similar to a real camera.
New Colours
The Pro iPhones would come in colours of gold, black, white, and natural. The regular iPhones would be made available in white, green, pink, and blue colours.
Apple’s New AI Helper
Apple is working on a new artificial intelligence system that it is going to call Apple Intelligence. It would summarise messages and notifications for one. However, that is still in the works so we may not see its full capabilities immediately.
New AirPods
Apple is working on two new kinds of AirPods. One, to resemble more the AirPods Pro, will have improved sound, while the higher-end version will include noise cancellation with a case sporting a mini-speaker to help users locate the earbuds in case they get lost.
More interestingly, Apple is trying to make the AirPods work like hearing aids and even for hearing tests, but that might not be ready yet.
Updated Apple Watches
All models of Apple Watches will be updated by Apple:
1. A newer, cheaper Apple Watch SE
2. A newer mid-range Apple Watch Series 10
3. A somewhat better Apple Watch Ultra 3
The Series 10 will have changed a bit in design, with a larger screen and thinner case. It might also be able to detect whether you have sleep apnea, which is a breathing problem while sleeping.
Other Stuff
Apple also has in works new Mac computers, but we won’t get to see them most likely until October or even later. They’re also making a new cheap iPhone-e.g., iPhone SE-and a new version of their tiny tracker thingy, AirTag, but those won’t hit until next year.
Bottom line: This is an enormously important event for Apple, which needs to prove to the world that it’s just as good at making AI as other big tech players. iPhones and Apple Watches also make up huge chunks of the money that Apple makes, meaning these new products will need to sell well. The event is called “It’s Glowtime,” implying an all-new AI assistant, Siri.
