They asked this nation which is situated between Europe and Asia’s border, not hit on human rights standards!  Blinken said government of Azerbaijan should respect international human rights standards, they should release activists and advocates who have been unjustly detained.

Recently State Secretary Blinken highlighted the issues by a tweet. In his tweet he highlighted the cases of Rufat Safarov and Sevinj Vagifgizi. These two are important figures who are known for their work in defending human rights.

Blinken stated, “The United States calls on Azerbaijan to respect its obligations and release those detained for their courageous work on behalf of human rights”.
