Trump Leads Harris in Key Swing States on Eve of Historic US Presidential Election

The 2024 US presidential election will come to a conclusion tomorrow as America decides between the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the Vice President, Kamala Harris, in what may turn out to be a historic election. The election characterized by menacing attempts, incumbent pullout, fake news has left the nation jumpy. In the last polls, the race has tightened significantly and out of the swing states, Trump has marginal leads.

Battle for Swing States

The new AtlasIntel poll has shown Trump in the lead in all of the seven battleground states albeit with small leads. While Trump currently enjoys the support of 52.3% of voters in Arizona and 51.2% in Nevada against 45.8% and 46% for Harris. The former president also has similar margins over Harris in North Carolina, 50.5% vs 47.1%, the margins in these critically contentious states are very much slim.

The rest of the swing states also do not show a very different picture about Trump’s narrow lead. Georgia puts Trump at 50.1% while Biden has 47.6% and in Michigan Trump has 49.7% while Biden has 48.2%. The margin between these two states is very slim with Trump in the lead 49.6% to 47.8% for Pennsylvania and 49.7% to 48.6 for Wisconsin.

Historic Implications

The election of tomorrow is a crucial point in history as Harris tries for the first time to become the woman president of America, and Trump tries to get a second term in office. The close fight has increased focus on the polls and also the forecasts on the turnout of voters. Since both candidates are pressing the attack buttons in swing states, the final balance may depend on voters’ last-minute conversions and get-out-the-vote drives.

Unlike gender barriers, the election also raised policy divisions and America’s direction in addition to other key issues. The campaigns have been mainly centered on economic issues, social justice and foreign policy, and the two candidates had very contrasting views of the country’s future.
