Joint immigration operation in Florida leads to 1,120 arrests
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in addition to partners from the Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Protection and the state of Florida, recently led a massive joint operation that lead to 1,120 arrests.
This is the largest number in a single state in just 7 days in the history of ICE. 63% of those arrested had existing criminal arrests or convictions.
Operation Tidal Wave is a first-of-its-kind, multiagency immigration enforcement operation under the 287(g) program, coordinated by ICE with state and federal partners.

The countries of origin of those arrested include 437 from Guatemala, 280 from Mexico, 153 from Honduras, 48 from Venezuela, 24 from El Salvador and 178 from other parts of the globe.
During the operation, local, state and federal partners helped in the arrest of “criminal illegal aliens around Florida.” The Immigration and Customs Enforcement used field office resources, alongside federal partners, to identify priority targets.
The state of Florida ensured significant assistance during the massive operation. It has been mentioned in one of the releases from ICE that: “Dangerous criminals have no place in our country.” Keep an eye out for more updates on illegal immigration.
