Update your Instagram App for the new update for Reel sharing made more customised with your friends and several groups. In their new update, Instagram has revealed a new Reel feature that allows users to share and personalise Reels in a single feed with individuals and groups called ‘Blend’.
‘Blend’ allows the users of the App to share reels to their followers, friends and groups that will automatically generate a custom feed based on the preference. Currently the feature can only be operated through invitation and user concern.
Meta, the parent company of Instagram has introduced the feature for seeking more user engagement in competition to find a quick replacement for the tumultuous status of TikTok in the USA.
Step 1: Open either a private or group DM and tap the Blend icon at the top of the screen.
Step 2: After tapping, click on “Invite” which allows people from the chat to join. Your Blend feature will activate only when at least one person accepts your invitation.
Step 3: After someone accepts your invitation, you’ll automatically start seeing a curated collection of Reels personalised according to the interests of members in the chat.
Step 4: If there is some engagement with a reel, clicking, liking or sharing, you will receive a notification from Instagram which will allow conversation over the reel in the chat group. After the feed is created, the user can revisit it any time in their chat groups by tapping the Blend icon again, just like any group chat.
Users can backout from this feature after having a few trials. Open the app and tap the message icon. Select the chat from where you like to leave Blend. After opening the chat, click on the Blend icon and again click on the three-dots at the top right and select ‘Leave this Blend’. With this, users will be removed from the shared reels feed of the particular chat.
