Emma Mackey to play the ‘White Witch’ in Greta Gerwig’s Narnia – Here is the Full  Cast and Crew

The Netflix backed Adaptation of the fan favorite fantasy world of ‘Narnia’ is directed by ‘Lady Bird’ filmmaker Greta Gerwig and will have Emma Mackey playing the Ice Queen, the evil spellcaster ‘White Witch’. Based on C.S Lewis’ fantasy novels, the series of movies released from 2005 are showered with love still, garnering world wide popularity. 

The Greta Gerwif feature will focus on Lewis’ sixth novel , ‘The Magician’s Nephew’ as the director and screenwriter has cast Emma Mackey (Sex Education) for the role of ‘White Witch’ which makes their second collaboration after the award winning, Billion Dollar grossing ‘Barbie’. 

Narnia The Movie has been surfacing then and now with interesting casting choices that hooks the fans with names like pop artist Charlie xcx playing the White Witch went blunt as The Hollywood Reporter Exclusive cements the news of Emma Mackey’s role. The tie was reportedly between Mackey and the talented Margaret Qualley. 

In true Greta Gerwig fashion, the filmmaker fought with the streaming giant to get a rare two week IMAX theatre release for ‘Narnia’ before it gets an everlasting OTT release on Netflix. The movie already has the legendary Meryl Streep up for the role of Aslan, the King of Kings and the talking beloved Lion. 
Mackey’s role as Jadis, the White Witch who froze the magical world of Narnia and the creatures with her curse. She was recently seen in ‘Emily’ as in Emily Brontë and will be seen with Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega project by J.J Abrams. Rest of the cast and crew will be revealed soon as more of Greta’s regulars are expected to be seen in the fantasy movie that is set to release in late 2026.
