Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson Dies at 79 After Alzheimer’s

Phil Robertson, the founder of Duck Dynasty, has died at 79 after fighting Alzheimer’s disease and other health issues. His family took to social media to announce his passing on May 25. Robertson’s name was known across the country because of the A&E reality series Duck Dynasty which centered on his family’s duck call manufacturing and life in Louisiana. From 2012 to 2017, the program with the Robertsons made them household names and helped their business grow into a major success.

Born in Louisiana, Robertson created and ran Duck Commander from 1973, making duck calls that changed waterfowl hunting. Thanks to his business success and fun personality, Phil was noticed by TV producers and the show Duck Dynasty resulted which quickly became one of cable TV’s most-watched reality shows.According to Korie Robertson, the family relies on their faith at this tough time and they see that Phil’s unwavering Christianness helped change his life and continues to guide his public activities. Robertson married Kay Carroway in 1966 and as a family they brought up five children who each carried on the business and entertainment sides of the family. At first, they arrange a private service and they hope to inform the public about the celebration of life later on.
