Avengers: Doomsday to have these 4 Super Soldiers from Thunderbolts* and a possible 2 more
Marvel fans are consolidated with Thunderbolts* The movie as majority of the reviews and responses brought back positive notes, keeping expectations high for the upcoming projects like ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. Marvel already has some of the known and biggest super soldiers as a part of the avengers or otherwise. Some of the recent and classic comic book super soldiers are expected to be in the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ movie.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to be released in May 2026 thus the makers have started the early filming with some of the cast. As it is known, the cast of Thunderbolts* are also expected to be a part of the massive star cast movie that is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. The Doomsday cast with the beloved actor Robert Downey Jr who revealed his role as Doctor Doom at the Comicon in the titular character will be written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.
Fans will also get to see not one but 4 confirmed Super Soldiers to be cast in the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ movie.
Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier
Seen recently in Thunderbolts* As a United States Congressman, James Buchanen ‘Bucky’ Barnes aka Winter Soldier was earlier confirmed to be in the Avengers: Doomsday movie. Sebastian Stan has been playing the established character as the Winter Soldier who fought along with Captain America and is believed to be killed in action but was captured by Hydra and was injected with the Super Soldier Serum by the Soviet.
Sebastian Stan will join his long time Marvel Co-stars and some of his new Thunderbolts* cast in Avengers: Doomsday. Bucky has certainly gotten a much bigger role than in the Avengers and now leads the ‘New Avengers’ along with Yelena Belova. Fans will be more excited to see Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson interacting and their relationship arc in the upcoming projects.
John Walker / U.S Agent
Introduced to the comic readers as a ‘Super- Patriot’, John Walker was made out to be the next Captain America but was given the opposite of his values and principles. Wyatt Russell plays the character of ‘John Walker’ first seen in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ series that also roped him a role in Thunderbolts* and eventually in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
John Walker was never established to have taken the serum in the movies yet, the character in the comics was said to have injected the super serum from the Power Broker. An interesting and full of angry addition to the Avengers cast whose projection and space in the clan will be watched.
Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian
Created by the Soviet Government as a Super Soldier with superhuman strength and unimaginable physical strength, Alexei Shostakov aka the Red Guardian will return to his fourth Marvel film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
Along with Yelena Belova, Red Guardian was seen with the Thunderbolts* almost leading the team and giving us much needed chuckles will be expected to continue in the next Marvel project too. Also there is already some tension between Alexei and Sam Wilson over the team name that could blow up.
Bob Reynolds / The Sentry and The Void (Kinda)
Praised character in the Thunderbolts*actor Lewis Pullman surged in appreciation for pulling off the alter ego superhero/ super villain character of ‘Bob’ Reynolds. Established in the comic book as a troubled person who is hit by the Professor’s Super Serum that gave him two alter egos – The Sentry and the Void, Bob Reynolds is not a certified Super Soldier but certainly has an external serum that gave him the ‘power of a million exploding suns’. His induction in Doomsday will be an interesting one, some more potential for the writers to work and create for the fans.
Now there are also talks about the beloved and the Super Soldier of all Super Soldiers, Captain America returning to the Avengers: Doomsday or at least the younger Cap from the multiverse. And another character is also said to join her one true love, none other than Peggy Carter who just like Steve Rogers was unceremoniously killed in Doctor Stranger 2, questioning the possibility and the version that could be seen in the movie.
