Bloomberg decides to increase its Spending post Iowa Confusion

By Uttara Malhotra.

Michael Bloomberg is in seventh heaven as he is making the most of a building up confusion surrounding the Iowa caucus. He has now decided to double its spending on advertisements and ramping up its organizing.

It has been confirmed that he will be pooling in double of his $300 million campaign advertisement spend. This is will help Bloomberg target existing areas of campaigning along with focus on new markets, according to a campaign aide. Mr. Bloomberg has now asked his advisers for the new round of spending after the Iowa Democratic Party failed to announce the results of the first nominating contest Monday night.

According to advertising tracker Kantar/CMAG, the media tycoon has already skipped the first four states. He is known to have spent $254 million on television and radio across the U.S. and at least $47 million on Facebook and Google ads since entering the race in late November 2019. His strategy was to focus on states that would be voting in March 2020.

Right now, all the six states which pushed Trump to win the 2016 election, Bloomberg has employed more than 450 staffers.  The Bloomberg campaign has also announced he robust manpower it has employed to meet its ambition. Even if he does not win the election, Bloomberg has said it will keep the employment of everyone safe. Currently, the team comprises more than 2,100 staff members on payroll, with 1,700 scattered across 40 states and territories and 400 in the campaign’s headquarters in New York City. Biden Lags Behind In Mid Campaign Results

By Uttara Malhotra.

Donors and voters are moving away from Joe Biden. There is no escaping this reality. This could be seen in Iowa and New Hampshire. Despite his robust campaigning, the results have not come out the way he had expected. Some are saying there is probably a flaw in the party’s election system.

Biden’s advisors now have to deal with the damp results. Biden was seen to be on fourth position in Monday’s what is being called a ‘chaotic’ caucuses based on the results that were calculated half way.

Results were partially released a day later. His advisors are compelled to feel that the campaign from the beginning had “considerable flaws” becoming the responsibility of the state Democratic Party and evidently showing a flaw in the reporting system. His campaign’s general counsel urged the state party on Monday night to withhold any official results until campaigns had received “full explanations” on “methods of quality control.”

It is now confirmed that Biden in trailing Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. His advisors had warned him not to bank on the New Hampshire votes, because they have a background of supporting candidates from New England. Apparently, three contenders this time hail from New England itself.

Biden had started to feel a ray of hope when the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers promised their support to Biden. A strong union of 775,000 members has endorsed his campaign, giving him more labor support ahead of the New Hampshire vote. The ripple effect can come down to other states as well. This includes Nevada and South Carolina as well. Further, But poor showings at the start of the calendar could give his rivals an opening with black voters while the party’s centrist voters may consider billionaire former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who has poured more than $300 million into his campaign and focused on states beginning in March. Majority Vote Prevents Trump From Being Impeached

Majority Vote Prevents Trump From Being Impeached

By Uttara Malhotra.

The Senate has finally acquitted President Donald Trump of the two articles of impeachment levied on Trump by the Democrats. It is now confirmed that the majority of a two-third vote was not there in order to remove him from his seat of power. Votes were largely along party lines.

Donald Trump had been accused of using his power seat to meet his personal agenda by influencing the Ukrainian President and about getting Joe Biden and his son investigated.

Further, Trump has also been accused earlier of possibly using Russian influence to shifting the voting influence to his side in the 2016.

Previous statements to the media by the Republicans confirmed that the party could not but acquit Trump else it would hurt the party in the long run. During the trial, Democrats repeatedly focused on the point that Trump had gone too far in cheating in the coming election by trying to damage a potential opponent. They were referring to Joe Biden. Republicans then had to create a protective net of words in which they claimed that the Democrats were improperly inflating missteps into impeachable offenses and trying to overturn the results of the 2016 election.

Democrats continued to say that the democracy has been failed by the president, while Trump has been happily boasting of how the economy has risen from the ashes, only because of his efforts. However, the finer print shows that Trump’s presence has disrupted the whole fabric of America’s relations with countries worldwide.

The first article of impeachment was abuse of power. All 47 Democratic-aligned senators and Mr. Romney voted to convict, falling short of the 67 needed to remove the president from office. On the obstruction of Congress article, the vote also failed, with all Democrats and no Republicans finding the president guilty.

Surprisingly, Romney voted out of the simple awakening of his conscience making him the first in the history of the party to do so. Two hours before the acquittal vote he marked in a floor speech that he had decided to vote to convict the president on the first article and said, “The president is guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust.”

Attacks on the Utah senator were planned as soon as he changed his stance. Those who can see the larger picture have admitted in various media polls that Mr. Trump abused his power and obstructed Congress. However, some 49% of respondents said he should be allowed to finish his term, compared with 46% who said he should be removed. see more news in america.

Trump Ridicules Democrats As He Prepares For Second Term

From the way the Republicans have swayed the trial’s outcome towards the impeachment of the President of US, it seems Donald Trump will be acquitted. Speaking to the Congress, Trump went all out to ridicule Democrats’ efforts to impeach Trump over two articles they submitted to the senate.

He was also able to establish credibility for being re-elected for a fresh term, when he boasted openly about how his policies of deregulation and tax cuts were responsible for “unparalleled success” in the economy. He also mentioned how in his presidency, the US economy had done better, and earned the respect the country deserves in the eyes of the world. “In just three short years we have shattered the mentality of American decline and we have rejected the downsizing of America’s destiny,” Trump said.

Soon later, Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the house tore the speech of the president apart.  Her frustration and anger was verbalized in her action. While he got a standing ovation from his own party, Trump started his speech, steering the subject of his impeachment in the early portion of his speech. All the time, at the Congress meeting, the rival Democrats for the most part remained seated and showed their disgruntlement. Throughout his speech, Trump asserted how he had done so much better for the American economy than his predecessor Barack Obama. It has been seen over his term of presidency, that he has out of his way, to undo everything which had been done by Obama in his term to better the situation of America from the inside and on the outside. The worst damage done by Trump has been to the 2015 Nuclear deal which was designed and implemented by Obama. By undoing it, Trump has created war like conditions with Iran and misbalanced the equations with other European countries whose future also depends on this deal. Read more news in america.

Trump Administration Drops Numbers Of Exemptions To Tariff Requests

Trump Administration Drops Numbers Of Exemptions To Tariff Requests

Trump administration is now denying any more tariff exemption requests on Chinese imports, something that continues to cripple the American market.

The approval rates have plunged to 3 percent.  This has been reported after the third round of levies from 35% in the first two. There is a steep decrease seen here.

In the last few months, almost 4500 companies are known to have requested for exemptions. Many companies are known to have made more than one exemption and as of now, more than 8700 such requests had been made. This shows the level of loss and dependency that American businesses have on Chinese products.

Since September, the Trump administration has kept a strict control over the number of exemptions they have approved. Media reports confirm that it has kept a strict control on the use of Chinese goods and approved merely 3%of all the exclusion requests under the $200 billion tranche of tariffs of Chinese goods.

Somewhere inspired by the Indian example to become domestically more independent, the administration has stated a viable reason for its pressure tactic. For one, it insists the American businesses depend more on their own domestic product than that of Chinese.See more News of America Today

Mike Pompeo expects to better relations with Ukraine amid Trump’s impeachment trial

Mike Pompeo expects to better relations with Ukraine amid Trump’s impeachment trial

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will land in Kyiv, where he proposes to dismiss opinions that there are policy differences between President Donald Trump, the State Department, Congress, and the intelligence with regards to Ukraine. The trip comes after a fiery interview with NPR—in which Pompeo was quoted as stating, “Do you think Americans bother about Ukraine?”— and amid Trump’s impeachment hearing in the Senate, which straightforwardly includes Ukraine.

Pompeo’s visit—which was postponed amid increased strains with Iran and his strategy tone is presumed to be hard. He will probably accentuate US support for Ukraine in its combat with Russian separatists in the east, FP revealed.

Pompeo is programmed to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as the Defense Minister Andriy Zagorodnyuk and Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko, on Friday.

Before traveling to Kyiv today, the secretary of state was reserved for meeting British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Pompeo will probably ask Johnson on the issue of security and the Chinese firm Huawei. Pompeo will furthermore visit Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Uzbekistan following Ukraine.

On Friday, Pompeo is scheduled to meet President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, as he looks forward to putting a definite turn on relations between the two nations amid Donald Trump’s Impeachment trial is in progress.

It is in Kyiv where the spotlight will concentrate most solidly on Pompeo and mostly on his endeavors to fix the harm done in the course of recent years, The Guardian reported.

The talks are probably going to cover Ukraine’s contention with Russia, bilateral relations, gas, and the United State’s sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, trade possibilities in Ukraine.See more news about News of America Today

America Sanctions and Waives Off Together

America Sanctions and Waives Off Together

The United States has yet again imposed sanctions on Iran’s nuclear entity as per the Treasury Department. However, it has been stated that the US will not interfere in Russian, Chinese and European firms continuing to work at Iranian nuclear sites. This might make it harder for that country to develop a nuclear weapon.

Further, the US will now issue waivers to sanctions that that initially barred non-US firms from dealing with the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran. According to the same sources, the waivers’ renewal will allow nonproliferation work to continue for 60 days. This will be done at the Arak heavy-water research reactor, the Bushehr nuclear power plant, the Tehran Research Reactor and other nuclear cooperation initiatives.

Waivers have had to be given in order to prevent non-proliferation, a decision that has come after a debate between the US Treasury and State Department. In November 2019, Washington had terminated the sanctions waiver related to Iran’s Fordow nuclear plant after Tehran resumed uranium enrichment at the underground site. The US retracted itself from the 2015 Nuclear Deal completely misbalancing world economy. Under the 2015 deal that was a great peace keeping effort made by Barac Obama, it was joint agreement between Iran and six world powers. These include Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States. Under the agreement, Tehran promised to limit its nuclear program in return for the lifting of economic sanctions that had crippled its economy. However, Trump’s retracement has left the rest of the partners in an extremely tough spot.

Trump Expands List Of Nations For Travel Ban

Trump Expands List Of Nations For Travel Ban

Donald Trump is coming out with policies which seem to indicate that he wants to get back at the Muslim community worldwide. Speaking at the World Summit in Davos recently, he said that he had plans of extending his travel ban to bar people from several additional countries.

His redone list is an indication that he is going to come down heavily on people who still look forward to the American dream. This is all in preparation towards his election campaign where he has promised to curb illegal immigration into the United States.

He has already been coming down heavy on Mexico and he meant to concretize that by erecting a physical wall at the Mexico-US border. The construction of the wall is under a court stay. The travel ban policy, public polls show, is indicating a huge fan following amongst Republican voters. This goes well in favour of the Republican President.

Going against the spirit of multiculturalism, the travel ban had already been challenged in federal court. It has since then gone through three iterations after Trump took office in 2016 but it only received Presidential proclamation in September 2017. The current version requires the DHS to review the visa restrictions every 180 days and permits the addition or removal of countries. The ban was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in June 2018 and includes a periodic review of whether countries should be added or taken off the list.

While the Trump administration has not sighted any particular reasons as to why some countries are being included, political analysts believe that this is a simple way to withhold right to immigration. Some of the countries listed include Belarus, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan and Tanzania, a list which was first spotted by Politico.

Some of these nations are in focus due to gross violation of human rights and America’s stance to impose travel bans could mean that movement of suffering civilians into US could be a closed chapter all together. It is a hard stand for a leader of a nation, but it might be the best one to keep violence and unrest at bay.

Trump impeachment, Democrats demand Bolton to testify

Democrats in US Congress demand that former National Security Advisor John Bolton testify in the trial for impeachment of President Donald Trump.

The call arrived after the New York Times revealed how Bolton in the draft of his book wrote that Trump told him he wanted to freeze aid to Ukraine until he started investigating Biden.

The prosecution in the trial, led by Adam Schiff, defined the disclosure as “explosive”, asking to summon John Bolton. US president Donald Trump, doesn’t seems really concerned because he knows that the impeachment to pass need the vote of at least 4 Republican senators.

Republicans May Face Tough Battle To Be Re-elected

It now seems that the fate of the impeachment can have an adverse affect on the future of the senators involved in the trial process too. According to Republican strategist James Bowers, the impeachment will play a major role in campaign ads for years.

There is already mounting pressure on the senators who are trying to juggle between the impeachment trial and their campaign dates. Of these, a handful of senators are facing tough re-election battles this year.

Political analysts believe that American voting pattern could be affected by the way the same senators acquit or convict Trump, or even to call witnesses in the trial. There is a mixed opinion around Trump’s impeachment trial. Voting polls have been divided over whether he should really be impeached or not.

Democrats need to pick up four seats from Republicans to win a majority in the Nov. 3 election, in which Trump also will be on the ballot.

Democrats are already pushing for Trump not to be given rights to cast a vote or campaign for the forthcoming elections.

According to three nonpartisan election services, between five and seven incumbent Senate Republicans are at risk of losing their seats, as do two incumbent Democrats. This information has been shared by The Cook Political Report, Inside Elections and Sabato’s Crystal Ball.

Because Trump was impeached by a Democratic dominated House of Representatives, the battle becomes tougher for the Republicans. Further, it has been noted that embattled Republicans like Corey Gardner of Colorado and Martha McSally of Arizona might face a voter backlash. This could happen if they vote to wrap up the trial quickly. This is something that the Republican leaders definitely want. They would like to avoid calling for more evidence and witnesses, which could potentially upend the proceeding.
