UAE Citizens Will Not Require A Visa To Visit The UK From 2023

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) citizens will no longer require a visa before travelling to the United Kingdom (UK) from next year. Under the new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system, Emiratis will enjoy this benefit.

On Monday, the UAE was added to the UK’s list of countries eligible for its new ETA system, removing visa restrictions for UAE passport holders to the UK from 2023. Through the landmark announcement, UAE and Britain will further strengthen their relationship. With this decision, the power of the UAE passport can be seen. UAE is the first country to benefit from the UK’s new visa scheme.

Before the introduction of ETAs in 2023, travellers from UAE can use Electronic Visa Waivers, which can be completed online before they visit the UK.

The UAE passport is the most powerful in the world

The UAE passport has become the strongest passport in the world. The UAE passport is ranked no. 1 by Passport Index. The most important part is that the UAE passport holders can now enter 175 countries around the world visa-free, according to the Henley Passport Index.

If a person is a UAE passport holder, they do not need a visa to travel to Canada for a short-term visit. Canada allows visa-free access to any traveller that holds a UAE passport. With the UAE passport, a person can visit Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Armenia, Austria, Bahamas, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Chad, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Japan, and many other countries.

During the time of Covid-19 in 2020, travel was disrupted globally, which led to a total decrease in the strength of passports globally. However, the UAE passport remained strong as it was ranked first in the world. According to Arton Capital’s Passport Index, the UAE passport held the 1st position globally from December 2018 until early 2020.

Indicators of UAE’s passport strength

With the UAE passport, people can travel to 175 countries around the world. Hence, the strength of the UAE’s passport shows the respect and trust the UAE enjoys across the world. The UAE passport ranking is high on the overall worldwide mobility score because people can visit many countries.

In 2021, the Global Passport Index released by Arton Capital ranked UAE first globally for achieving the highest mobility score. With current travel restrictions related to Covid-19 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine factored in, the UAE has topped Arton Capital’s Passport Index again.
