Trump to ‘Work the Fryers’ at Pennsylvania McDonald’s in Campaign Stop

Donald Trump will present an unusual rally on Sunday at a McDonald’s restaurant in Lower Southampton, Pennsylvania. The campaign officials of the visit state that Trump intends to “grill the burgers” behind the counter, a reference to the competitor Joe Biden’s Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris’s background in resignation. This latest act has come in the backdrop of Trump’s rising efforts in the competitive Philadelphia suburbs, especially the Bucks and Montgomery counties in the run-up to the 2024 presidential elections. The tour highlights the significance of the 19 electoral votes that the state holds in the next election.

Swing County Strategy

The McDonald’s is located in Bucks County, one of the most fasting switching counties in southeastern Pennsylvania. According to official county records, this is clearly illustrated in the fact that Republicans constituted 41.6% of voters and Democrats constituted 41% of voters in the county, meaning that the county is almost perfectly polarized between the two parties. This planned visit by Trump to this McDonald’s in Pennsylvania, which is just over 4 miles away from a Trump Store in Bensalem shows how strategic his campaign is to capture the vital votes from this region.

The McDonald’s stop is part of a packed Sunday of activities for Trump, who is also expected to conduct a town hall meeting in Lancaster in the evening. This visit comes after his previous visit to Montgomery County and after the vice president of Harris’s event with Republican voters in Washington Crossing Historic State Park. The higher activity in campaigning shows that these Philadelphia suburbs are part of the battlefield in the 2024 election.
