This week Rio de Janeiro will host the G20 Leaders’ Summit, bringing together leaders from the world’s largest economies.
Rio is famous for its beautiful beaches, lively culture, and landmarks like Christ the Redeemer. However it also shows the big social and economic gaps many countries deal with.
Under leadership of Brazil the G20 meetings this year have focused on solving global problems. The main topics are reducing poverty fighting racism and addressing the climate crisis. The goal is to make wealthy countries share responsibility more fairly for these issues.

Indian PM Modi reached for G20 summit this morning, Global leaders like US President and Chinese President Xi Jinping will also participate in the two-day summit. According to official source, G20 members include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the United States, the African Union and the European Union. Spain is also invited as a permanent guest to attend the summit this year.
