RCB announces 10 Lakh compensation for the Stampede Victims’ families in Bengaluru
Fans of the IPL Franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore were certainly elated for their team to lift the renowned trophy after years of struggle but what unraveled only a day after in Bengaluru splashed sadness into the whole picture.
Winning the IPL trophy on 3 June, the RCB team players and management planned for a victory parade on 4 June 2025 in the streets of Bengaluru as a part of the celebration plan with the millions of fans. The worst possible outcome happened as 11 people were killed in the stampede during the parade and the following tour to the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The parade was set to begin at 3.30 PM but the streets were flooded for the whole day that only intensified once the players landed in the city and the tour bus which deviated from the original plan and went straight to the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the team’s home ground.
Although the Karnataka police were informed for maximum security, they were out of proportion due to the massive crowd that mobbed the streets, creating ruckus and unfortunately led to the fatality of 11 people.
Now the RCB management has released a statement, announcing 10 Lakh in compensation for the families of the 11 victims. The management has also set up a fund to support the fans injured in the tragic incident.
The official statement reads as follows, “The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday has caused a lot of anguish and pain to the RCB family. As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced a financial support of INR 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased. In addition, a fund called RCB Cares is also being created to support fans injured in this tragic incident. Our fans will always remain at the heart of everything that we do. We remain united in grief.”
