How Well Does the Vaccine Work?
One dose of the MMR vaccine is 93% effective against measles, and two doses are 97% effective. Adults unsure of their vaccination status can ask a doctor about a blood test or a booster.

Measles was declared eliminated in the U.S. in 2000. Today, schools are reopening and families are traveling again, so small gaps in immunity can grow quickly.
