Masters 2025 Update: Cut Line Set at 1-Over, Big Stars Struggle

The 2025 Masters is happening at Augusta National Golf Club, and golf fans are excited to see who will win the famous green jacket.

But not all players will get to play through the weekend.

What is the “cut line”?

After the first two rounds (36 holes), The Masters removes the players with the lowest scores. This is called the cut. Only the top players keep playing on Saturday and Sunday.

What’s the cut this year?

The current cut line is 1-over par. That means only players with a score of 1-over or better can continue. Around 50 players are expected to make the cut.

Who might not make it?

Some big stars are in danger of getting cut. If the tournament ended right now, these players would be out:

  • Jon Rahm (+3)
  • Phil Mickelson (+3)
  • Dustin Johnson (+3)
  • Max Homa (+3)
  • Will Zalatoris (+2)
  • Keegan Bradley (+2)
  • Tony Finau (+3)
  • Wyndham Clark (+4)

They’ll need to play better in Round 2 to stay in the game.

How many players make the cut?

Only the top 50 players, plus ties, will move on to the weekend rounds.

Is Tiger Woods playing?

No, Tiger Woods is not playing this year. He had surgery in March for an injury and is still healing. On April 1st, he joked on social media that he was coming back — but it was just an April Fools’ joke.
