Joe is now a professor in London in ‘You’ season 4

As shown in the preview for the first episode of the fourth season of You, Penn Badgley’s character, Joe Goldberg, has his sights set on a new target.

Joe reintroduces himself in the one-and-a-half minute clip that was made available by Netflix on Sunday, September 25, under a new identity. He is now a professor by the name of Jonathan Moore, and he resides in London at this time.

The plot of the upcoming fourth season will pick up after the events of the previous season, in which Joe was revealed to have killed his wife Love (who was portrayed by Victoria Pedretti), deserted their child, and led everyone he knew to believe he had passed away before moving to Paris in search of Marienne (played by Tati Gabrielle.)

“I’m not the charming manager of the bookstore in New York; I’m not the shop clerk in Los Angeles; I’m not the doting spouse in the suburbs. No longer, as of right now. Excuse me, but I’d like to make an introduction,” Joe stated as his new name showed on the screen. “Since I’ve been across the pond, I’ve undergone some sort of a transformation. And being able to bury the past, if you will, thanks to the fact that I now live in London.”
