Israel’s First Ambassador to UAE Reflects on Three Years of Diplomatic Growth

A farewell statement from Israel’s first ambassador to the UAE has emerged that turns its attention to the relationship between Israel and the UAE.Israeli Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Amir Hayek made a X post which is reflecting on his three years of service.

In his post Israel’s first ambassador to the UAE said my journey is coming to an end. It has been an honor to witness the growth of a new era in our relationship, filled with hope for a united future.

He expresses his gratitude to UAE leaders, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for their support in building a strong partnership based on trust and respect. He also thanked former Prime Minister Yair Lapid, President Isaac Herzog, and Ambassador Mohammed Al Khaja for their collaboration throughout diplomatic journey.

In his post, he shed light on the growing partnership between Israel and UAE. He said this is just beginning of the partnership and I am confident about the success of this relationship of both nations.

The growing ties between the Middle Eastern nation Israel and the Gulf Nation UAE:

According to the official source of UAE foreign ministry, “United Arab Emirates and the State of Israel announced the establishment of relations under the historic Abraham Accords Peace Agreement with the United States.”

They further cited, The Abraham Accords were signed in an official ceremony in Washington, DC on September 15, 2020, by HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to the BBC News, “The peace agreement between Israel and the UAE represents a significant shift in regional dynamics, fostering an environment of dialogue and cooperation.”

To enhance relation between Israel and UAE it will take time and gradual steps will be helpful.  UAE and Israel began collaborating closely to expand research and treatment on COVID-19, apart from this there are various sectors both nations are working together like logistics, air links, tourism, cultural exchange, education, medical, scientific research, and telecommunications.

Middle East Monitor shows that relations between nations are growing positively. As they wrote, “The UAE-Israel relations have not only fostered economic growth but also inspired a new wave of diplomatic engagement across the region.”
