
Head Up for ‘Getting Rid of Matthew’ – A RomCom starring Emma Roberts, Luke Wilson and Heather Graham in charts
Jane Fallon’s 2007 debut novel ‘Getting Rid of Matthew’ is now picked for film adaptation starring Emma Roberts, Luke Wilson and Heather Graham in the prominent roles surfing through personal relationship troubles. The Romantic Comedy will be directed by Costa Rican writer director Hernán Jiménez.
‘Getting Rid of Matthew’ will follow Helen (Roberts) a young woman who is daring and follows her heart and passion that takes her to New York placing her in a dream job as she also falls for her charismatic, confident boss Matthew (Wilson) who is married to his wife Sophie (Graham). While the affair is kept under wraps by Matthew, leaving Helen in a twist.

Hernán Jiménez is known for the Netflix Romcom ‘Love Hard’ will be backed by Elysa Koplovitz Dutton will produce through Alloy Entertainment, the production of another Netflix Romantic Drama ‘Purple Hearts’ and the recent sensation ‘You’ among others. The film sales have already begun globally by Architect while the movie will be filmed in Toronto, Canada from October 2025.
A refreshing Romantic Comedy that will have fans in stitches as the lead woman is trying her manic ways to get rid of her boss/love interest who is chaotic and has a quirky mischief in her, an apt role for Emma Roberts who stole hearts in ‘Holidate’.
