Australia XI for the World Test Championship 2025 Announced
Key Australian players are back on the Playing XI for the World Test Championship 2025 with Pat Cummins leading the team and seasoned pacer Josh Hazelwood and the power packed Green inducted to the squad after months, recovering from back surgery.
The World Test Championship will start from June with the finals slated at The Lord’s will have the final face off between Australia and South Africa on 11 June. Taking on the Proteas the Australian squad along with Captain Cummins has Mitchell Starc with two spinners Nathan Lyon and Matt Kuhnemann in the 15 squad.

Key batsman Usman Khwaja, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne and Josh Inglis are lined up along with budding talent Sam Konstas while the middle order is backed by all rounders Cameron Green and Beau Webster. Alex Carey will keep and Inglis can also lend a hand behind the stumps with Brendan Doggett roped in as a reserve player.
The team is well balanced with round about talents who have performed well in the recent times against the WTC game against Sri Lanka and in the IPL 2025. “We are fortunate and looking forward to having Pat (Cummins), Josh (Hazlewood) and Cam (Green) back in the squad,” Selection Chairperson George Bailey said also adding, “It means a lot to the group to reach the final and they are very much looking forward to the challenge South Africa will present at Lord’s.”
The same Australian squad will play against the West Indies Three test series at the Carribean that will commence from 26 June 2025.
