Hoda Kotb, a main co-anchor of the NBC News ‘Today Show’ and co-host of its entertainment-focused fourth hour, is currently in the limelight.
She has not appeared on-air on ‘Today Show’ for over a week. She has not been seen since February 17. However, she was featured in a pre-taped President’s Day episode on February 20. Kotb did not reveal the reason for her absence from the show. She posted images of inspirational quotes on her social media but never talked about her absence on the show. Social media users and fans have started to worry about Kotb’s unexplained absence.
In her absence, NBC media personalities like Craig Melvin, Tom Llamas, Willie Geist and Sheinelle Jones have been featured in shows. Kotb was replaced by World News Tonight anchor Llamas. Craig Melvin worked her shift during the second day of her absence.
Who is Hoda Kotb?
Hoda Kotb joined NBC in 1998 as a correspondent. After ten years, she joined ‘Today Show’ alongside co-host Kathie Lee Gifford. She has received many awards for her contributions to the journalism field.
Earlier, she worked as a correspondent for the television news magazine program Dateline NBC. Kotb is in a relationship with New York financier Joel Shiffman. They have adopted two children together.
Why is Hoda Kotb not on ‘Today Show’?
Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager said that Hoda Kotb was unavailable because she was ‘out’. The 58-year-old woman has been a host on the popular ‘Today show’ for years. Kotb did not give any explanation about her longtime absence from the popular show. She has also not released a new episode on her podcast Making space since February 20.
Her fans have expressed concern on her social media space. They asked about her well-being in the comments section of her posts on her social media profiles.
