If you have been appreciating the chilly autumn air in Washington, D.C., this week will continue the traditional fall feeling — a mix of warm sunshine, chilly breezes, and a splash of rain in the middle of the week. Here’s what you can anticipate, day by day.
The week begins on a pleasant day of a high of approximately 64°F (18°C) and a low of about 43°F (6°C). Expect to see periods of clouds and sunshine, favourable for a run in the morning or coffee outside in the afternoon.
Look for slightly moodier skies on Tuesday. The day will be principally cloudy and breezy, with high temperatures of near 59°F (15°C) and low temperatures around 45°F (7°C). I would recommend you bring a light jacket if you plan on being outdoors this evening.
Unfortunately, a small chance of light rain arrives on Wednesday as temperatures reach around 56°F (13°C) in the day and 48°F (9°C) at night. It may be a good time to grab an umbrella — it won’t be a complete wash, but there may be a few passing showers.
Thursday presents as the rainiest day of the week, with steady rain and gusty winds. The high will be 61°F (16 °C) and the low will be near 45°F (7°C). Rain may create minor puddles on roadways, so be sure to allow extra time for your commute and grab your rain boots!
As the week comes to an end, sunshine returns! Friday will feature partly sunny skies and breezy conditions with highs near 58°F (15°C) and lows near 44°F (7°C), which will be refreshing environmental conditions, compared to Thursday’s rain.
Saturday is be one of the most comfortable days this week. Expect partly sunny skies with a nice high near 62°F (17°C). With an overnight low around 42°F (6°C), it is a great day to go for a walk through the National Mall or enjoy a brunch outside.
Finally, we can close the weekend with more partly sunny skies and highs around 59°F (15°C). The evening will be a little chilly with lows around 41°F (5°C) so be sure to warm up with a hot beverage and hangout inside.
In D.C., this week’s weather gives you a little bit of everything: sunshine, light rain, and that familiar fall breeze.
