‘Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum’ – Warner Bros’ Exciting New Project Coming in 2026

It is officially announced by Warner Bros  A new Lord of the Rings movie is in process, it will release in 2026. The movie revolve around Andy Serkis’ Gollum.

On Thursday, Discovery’s first-quarter earnings conference was where CEO David Zaslav said the company is “now in the early stages of script development” for new Lord of the Rings movies.  “anticipate releasing in 2026.” he continued.

Guess who’s back? Peter Jackson, the mastermind behind the original LOTR trilogy, is returning to produce this project alongside Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens. Be ready for the surprise, because the project, tentatively titled Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, is already in the works, though still in its early stages of development.

Andy Serkis is also set for his new innings as director and star. Serkis is set for his role as Gollum.

This movie “Lord of the Rings”, will be the first of two live-action movies from Jackson, screenwriter Philippa Boyens, and Fran Walsh.  These three together worked on “The Hobbit” too.

Warner Bros. is working with studio New Line Cinema. New Line produced the original trilogy which Warner Bros. acquired in 2008.

After Zaslav announced this movie in last year this is the first time public announcement about the film again. Zaslav confirmed that the films would serve as a remake of the over-20-year-old trilogy. The narrative will be new!

Zaslav said, “Lord of the Rings”, is one of the most successful and revered franchises in history and presents a significant opportunity for our theatrical business.”

So, it is confirmed that t original film trilogy, which won multiple Oscars, will return to theaters this summer, remastered and expanded.
